HAPPY NEW YEAR! It really puts life in perspectiv HAPPY NEW YEAR! It really puts life in perspective when you group a year together in under 75 seconds. I feel very fortunate to have had very busy hand creating some incredibly special pieces and connecting with really wonderful people 🫶🏼 Creativity. Community. Connection. It was a full year and it’s cool to sit back and reflect on it all. I wanted to post more during the holidays, but here we are… Thank you for choosing urban alchemy in 2024. I ventured into 2025 with inspiration, motivation and a desire to keep on creating!! I look forward to sharing some of my ideas with you all ✨ Thank you 🙏🏽
What a whirlwind of a season 🫶🏼 I feel like What a whirlwind of a season 🫶🏼 I feel like I just blinked and the last two months flashed before my eyes!! I’m truly humbled by your continued support of my craft and grateful to be able to create + share this love of handmade with you! Between the markets, team building workshops, Quesnel workshops, driving in snow storms, getting a new puppy, little humans and all the rest of life/responsibilities that exist outside work, It was a jam packed season + I am happy to move into a more sustainable pace of life! A huuuge thank you to the @edgewoodfarmandflower crew for hosting me in November. You are the absolute best! The kind of people that will literally pull up the floor for you 😂 (seriously they did!!). Thank you to the @medievalmarketwl for creating such a wonderful space for makers, @northvineswine for curating a lovely Christmas Market, and the rest of the fabulous events I was apart of ! In addition I want to celebrate the amazing fellow makers for putting their hearts into what they create - I am grateful for the relationships and connections that I continue to build + create in with you in this industry. And THANK YOU to my followers, friends + family 😘 You’re why I keep doing this year after year! I wanted to be done all commissions by today, however, with sick hubby + kiddos that isn’t the reality I’m working with. I will hopefully get back into the studio and be done by early next week 🤞 Just a reminder - I may be done markets, but I do have some last minute items available by pick up if you want to shoot me a message or email. The amount of support + love I received at both @artknapps_pg Artisans in the Greenhouse and @studio_2880 Studio Fair has blown me away. All week I have been ruminating over the beautiful connections + conversations I had. THANK YOU, from the bottom of my maker heart, THANK YOU! I am so grateful for our community and the connections + relationships that I continue to build year after year through Urban Alchemy. But most of all I am so grateful for my family. The unwavering love + support I receive from my husband @taitertot9 to keep on going is what allows me to pursue this labour of love. The fact that I get to share this creative journey with my maker sister @luxadorn is so incredibly special. CALATHEA ring This soft feather textured leaf rin CALATHEA ring This soft feather textured leaf ring is inspired by the tropical Calathea plant - Which is soft + feathery to the touch. The Calathea is a symbol of a new beginnings – its name is derived from the English saying ‘to turn over a new leaf’, which is exactly what the plant does in the dark. An inspiration to the wearer that we have the power to create new beginnings ✨ The open design allows for fit of different sizes which is so awesome for those whose fingers swell throughout the day! This creation was inspired by a custom order. We worked together to bring the idea to life - the design fit so well with Urban Alchemy, I decided to expand on it. By HAND. As our world becomes more automated, I a By HAND. As our world becomes more automated, I appreciate handmade and the SLOW movement even more. The love, intention and time put into creation by human hands cannot be replaced by a machine or factory. It never ceases to amaze me at how time flies in the studio and how long creating actually takes. There are definitely ways to speed up production while still being handmade. However, for the Radiant Love series, I have chosen to build every bit from scratch - weighing + measuring the recycled silver, melting + milling the metal, sawing + soldering the parts, using bits + bits to create shape, polish and finish each and every small piece. I am adding some really cool hand fabricated pieces to my collection for this season and I am soooo excited to share them with you! My mind is fluttering with ideas and only so much time in the day for these two hands to bring them to life, but I am working hard to finish them 🤩
